Insiders’ guide to Te Ara
One week, I’ll be researching rural recreation and watching videos of axe-men carnivals and, the next week, I’ll be looking at water resources and figuring out how to show how aquifers work.
That’s what Marguerite Hill said about her varied job as a resource researcher for Te Ara. The New Zealand Herald thought her job sounded so interesting that they’ve featured her in their ‘My job story‘ section.
Marguerite talks about the qualifications a resource researcher needs, and about her background in history and museum studies.
The best part of the job? ‘So far, it’s been seeing the finished entries up on the staging site and looking like a “real” website with images, completed videos, sounds and diagrams.’
